Caps have been made using cotton for many years... This is no "accident", cotton is natural, it "breathes", it looks good, it feels great! However... there is a "down side"... The use of 100% cotton in garments depletes a natural resource, often requires substantial use of pesticides and chemicals, and is typically less colorfast than man made fabrics. Dimensional stability (shrinkage) is also something that often causes problems with 100% cotton textiles.

Caps made using Polyethylene Terephthalate (ie. PET, most commonly known as "polyester") are typically derived from Petroleum. These are usually more dimensionally stable, however these caps often have a "harder" hand feel and can sometimes be "hot" to wear.

Efforts to create environmentally friendly fabric suitable for caps manufacture have to date focused on organic fabrics (those produced in controlled environments that require less chemical treatment or enviro friendly chemical treatment), AND fabrics produced using other natural resources such as bamboo. This is "OK", but to suggest it is totally "earth friendly" is misleading. Enviro Cap solves this problem!
